‘Cool’ Sonoma County Wines

Sonoma is blessed with three cool regions: the Russian River Valley, the Sonoma Coast, and los Carneros.  In this seminar you will taste Pinot Noir from these regions and learn about their distinctive attributes. Outstanding wines from DeLoach, MacRostie, Martinelli, and Inman Family Winery, and more will be included. Join several ‘cool’ Sonoma County winemakers and Honore Comfort, SCV Executive Director, for an informative and insight-filled presentation and tasting. Price: $15.00

11:00AM-12:00PM
Codorníu:  The First Family of Cava
Codorníu Cava is produced at an historic winery in Catalonia, Spain. The winery was established by Jaume Codorníu in 1551 but did not produce the sparkling wine for which it is famous until 1872 after family member Josep Raventos visited the Champagne region of France and was inspired to use the techniques he learned there on the grape varieties of Catalonia, thus it can be said Raventos invented Cava. In 1885, Josep’s son Manuel concluded that the future of his family winery was in Cava production. For more than 125 years, Codorníu has produced sparkling wines exclusively.  We are fortunate to have Bruno Colomer, head of enology for Codorníu, to explain the elaborate process of producing cava and taste a selection of their wines.  If you have ever wondered how 50 million bubbles make their way into a bottle of Cava, this seminar is for you! Price: $15.00

2:00PM – 3:00PM

We are pleased to announce that for the first time in Expo history, consumers will be able to purchase the wines they discover from their iPhones during the event for home delivery using the Drync Direct iPhone app.

Users simply scan a wine label to find any wine via image recognition, or search and filter event wine lists customized for the Boston Wine Expo.

The app will be populated with every wine registered for Expo events, including the Grand Tasting, Grand Cru Lounge and over 30 Seminars. Wines available in the area will be available for retail purchase directly from users’ iPhones for home delivery.

We believe that when someone discovers a wine they love at the Boston Wine Expo, it should be easy to remember it and buy it again. Drync Direct lets them do just that.
